Study of the drama El Condestable don Álvaro de Luna (1839) in both the context of the political drama of the Spanish Romanticism (sources, topics, motives, actions, time and space, depiction of the characters, staging, reception, contemporary and current reviews, political meaning of the text) and in Gil y Zárate’s body of work. Analysis of the handwritten and printed sources of the play that have been preserved. Critical edition of the play.
