Literaturas e Culturas Galega e Portuguesa e Literatura MedievalAbstract:
This dissertation focuses on the works of the Brazilian musician and cultural agent Caetano Veloso following the idea of trajectory (Bourdieu) and from a systemic perspective, taking into account the different stances he has taken over the course of more than five decades and linking them with the events of the social space and the various fields (cultural, literary, power) of his country.Program:
In order to reconstruct his vast trajectory, we will take into account the different sources that give us an understanding of the dynamics of the literary and cultural fields in the Brazilian social space between 1955 and 2000.
With this last aim in mind and due to the complexity of the subject matter of this dissertation, we will prioritize a broad approach that looks comprehensively at the different analytical perspectives that already dealt with aspects of the works or specific moments of Veloso’s trajectory.
Thus, the main goal of the research process was the direct contact with the compositions, books, declarations and his other works, in order to know and analyse Caetano Veloso’s trajectory, avoiding any simplification or idealisation and without excluding any well-established interpretation or hypothesis about this author.
