Literatura en lengua española y literatura comparadaAbstract:
The aim of this project is to carry out the edition and study of the works of three poets belonging to the chansonnier tradition (Rodrigo de Torres, Martín el Tañedor and a poet identified as Martín’s brother), whose poems are included in the same manuscript (the "Cancionero de Palacio", SA7), considered by Dutton “more representative of the early 15th-century courtly life and the type of poetry favoured in the first half of the 15th century”. Critics have not paid much attention to these authors, maybe due to their scarce body of work. However, given their interest, they have not gone completely unnoticed.Program:
Martín el Tañedor has been the most studied: we have lost part of this legacy, but he must have been highly regarded by his contemporaries (something that can be inferred from Villasandino’s works). We have less information about his brother, traditionally identified as Diego el Tañedor. We do not have a study of his biography; his works have been copied in SA7 and form a compact block (something unusual in collections). In regards to Rodrigo de Torres, his poems were collected in six chansonniers, which shows the big interest his works must have aroused.
