Abstract:
This Phd research project focuses on the study of the works of Asturian poet Olvido García Valdés (1950). She holds degrees in Philosophy and Philology and has published several collections of poems from the late 20th century until recent years. In 2007, she was awarded the National Poetry Prize. Apart from poetry, she has written essays, articles on literature, art and culture, texts for exhibition catalogues about different artists, conferences, translations and editing.
My main goal it is to offer an in-depth analysis of her works in the poetry genre and to establish the main aspects of her poetry. To do that, the starting point will be a thorough reading not only of her poems, but also of her texts of theoretical nature, in order to provide the keys to her ideas and concepts about the genre and their implementation in her poems.
